Pedicure induce labor?

Question

I'm 38 weeks today with my first baby. At my doctor appointment this morning I was already 4cm dilated. My doctor said she can't believe I'm still pregnant!

Anyway....could getting a pedicure induce labor? I need my toes done badly, but my parents are out of town for 3 more days and I don't want to go into labor without them here. Has anyone gone into labor after getting a pedicure?

Had one yesterday and experienced intense contractions last night and I  thought for sure it was actual labor, but it all ended around 2 am and here I am today, still waiting. My toes look great though!!

Just don't have the massage part of you're concerned. The pressure point that's supposed to trigger labor is about an inch above your ankles on the inside - they can avoid it if you're truly worried. I had a pedi a few days ago - am 38.3 and 3cm dilated - and zero action. :)

I have heard conflicting things-but mostly that massage of lower leg and ankle area could cause a contraction. but I've never heard of it actually happening...or causing true labor...more often I've heard people say go take care of yourself and get a pedicure 😀

I just got one Monday and haven't felt any difference at all. It was extremely relaxing but would've been great if it had pushed things along

I'm currently getting one right now. But my prenatal massage therapist said its highly unlikely. The amount of pressure and stimulation needed won't do anything in a simple pedicure if worried just tell them to avoid those areas

It could because your pressure points on your feet could send you into labor if you massage them.

No I've had them my entire pregnancy.. Baby is still cooking at 38 weeks and 5 days 😑

I've had them my whole pregnancy no labor pains here! I just had one at 37 weeks and still nothing! :)

I think that is related to pressure points by your heels? Maybe forgo the massage part if you're worried?

I've gotten a couple of them now, and my little guy is still hanging out inside. I don't think there's any reason they would induce labor.
