Too young to be in a committed relationship?

My bf is older by two & a half years. but i feel like he just wants to be a man & have his freedom, hang out with his friends. but i only see him three days a week i don't really ask him for much. Things haven't been going right lately because he can't handle me when I'm moody & thinks i have a bad attitude. But when we're not together he never even wants to call me or send me a text? Whats your thoughts on commitment?
