Why are people pissed off at Target?

Why are people so mad that Target went gender neutral? I don't understand why it is such a big deal.

I think it's great. I remember wanting Lego so bad when I was a kid but I never got any at all because I was a girl and Lego was for boys 😒. If girls want to play with Lego and trucks and boys want to make jewellery and dress up dolls then let them! It has nothing to do with sexuality or sexual identity at that age anyway. They just want to play with the toys they want.

A. This is not an LGBTQIA issue, it is about removing gender stereotyping & creating gender equality. Society has told us for too long that boys should be outside with cars & trucks and girls inside with baby dolls & their easy bake oven. I cannot fathom how people don't see an issue with telling children what they should be playing with based on their gender.

B. Taking away gender signs on toys is not going to change your child's sexual orientation or make them question their gender identity. If that happens, it's because they were born that way.

C. We don't seperate infants toys by gender, so why do we need to seperate toys once they passed a certain age? Their are still some infant toys aimed more at boys or girls but they don't seperate them into a different section.  How is this any different??

I feel like this is one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations.

There is no way to please everyone. Someone will ALWAYS have something to complain about.

I don't really understand what the fuss is about either, what a silly thing to be angry over. They went gender neutral on toys... Why is that a big freaking deal? I think people waste a lot of time and energy getting mad over really stupid, pointless things.

I was raised playing with Lego's, Lincoln Logs and Hot Wheels... I had three brothers and I hated dolls so I was an inexpensive child. It never even crossed my mind as a child that there were 'boy' toys and 'girl' toys. That's how it should be, I think, that's how we will raise our kids as well.

I could care less, however, why can't they just go to the girl isle if they feel that they are a girl and not a guy? Why do they feel the need to change things so they don't "hurt someone's' feelings"...it's getting a little ridiculous. I think a majority of America is tolerant of this issue, however, if you are changing stuff like this, you are inadvertently shoving it down the throats of the American people...and just for the record, I love all my gay friends!!

I consider myself rather conservative but I don't think toys have a gender. If my daughter wats to play with building sets then maybe she'll be an architect. The same way if my son wants to play with a baby doll or a toy kitchen, then why can't he learn to care for a future family?

People are mad because they're narrow-minded and want to raise their children in the same exact gender rolls that were forced on them. Stupidity in action.

I don't care at all as long as the toys are still there lol doesn't matter how they choose to organize. People overthink things. It is not for gay people etc, it's so kids can choose any toy they want without thinking in their heads that they are a girl for wanting this or a boy for wanting that, a toy is a toy. I used to watch power rangers when i was little and i lovedddd my little brothers toy cars but my dad would buy me barbies instead and would tell me not to play with the cara because those were for boys. A toy was not going to change my sexuality. I have 1 son now, expecting and happily married
