Hair Dye/ Highlights, first trimester?

Question

I have heavy blonde highlights with my dark brown roots coming in.  I am just 4 weeks. Starting a new job in two weeks and want to look professional.

Are foil lowlights at salon ok, since it's not on skin? I'd like to start getting some darker lowlights to "even out" my look so I won't have to be a highlighting addict anymore. I am considering an all-over natural henna dye.

Any experience with any of this?

It's fine to colour your hair when pregnant, I'm a hairdresser and I have coloured many pregnant woman's hair no problem. As long as you get a skin test and the room is well ventilated then it's fine x

First if it's just highlights that's doesn't even touch your scalp so your fine and second you CAN color your hair when pregnant. Doesn't do anything to the baby.

I wouldn't and didn't color my hair the first trimester. Although all hairdressers say "oh it's fine" I would trust a doctor that doesn't recommend it

I cant advise on the hair dying in pregnancy...there is varying information,  although from what I know, if the due doesn't touch your skin and the salon is very well ventilated then you should be okay.

I do have a lot of experience with henna, have used for years and cant speak highly enough about it. Permanent dye that leaves hair healthy and shiny. Do make sure to buy from a reputable seller as in health food stores its often 'cut' (moxed with random stuff) and can turn hair green etc.

You can dye your hair when prego, as long as your not inhaling fumes for too long, and they are getting better these days anyway, but the dye itself will not harm your precious cargo, hope this helps

Just be careful spending money! I tried to add lowlights to my hair and because of the hormones it didn't take.. at all! Luckily my cousin does mine and didn't charge me for it but wouldn't want to see money wasted! Good luck!

Don't do henna. If you decide to go back to blonde later the reaction from the lightener or regular color could literally cause your hair to smoke!
