Sleeping on your back?

Question

When are we suppossed to stop sleeping on our backs?  I've heard 12 weeks, but what if you're not showing? I am 11 weeks and 2 days and not showing at all.

Thanks for all of the tips everyone.  I have hard time getting comfortable on my back.  I ordered this pillow.  Hopefully it will help me get more comfortable on my side.  Hopefully there will still be room in the bed for my husband with this giant pillow 😂

I was told that it is not optimal to sleep on your back even if you aren't showing much. Side sleeping is the best because back sleeping can cause back, breathing and digestive problems not to mention low blood pressure and decrease in circulation to you and the baby. I hope this helps.

I'm a tummy sleeper... It's hard not to fall asleep on my tummy but I'm getting better at sleeping on my sides. When I'm awake though... I'm having a hard time not laying on my back. :( so hard!!!

My doc told me at the visit today by 11 weeks sleep on my side.

I'm 9 weeks and was already advised to avoid sleeping on my back or doing any exercise that requires me to be in that position.

My doctor told me there was no solid scientific evidence to support the fact that lying/sleeping on your back is really dangerous. He told me I could continue to lie on my back throughout my entire pregnancy.

I am 7w6d...from early on (due to bloating) I could no longer sleep on my tummy. My side hurts too (perhaps because of the cyst they saw on early US) so most of the time my back is only comfortable way right now...
