Nursing & conceiving

Can those of you who have conceived while nursing share. I'm older and struggled to conceive my first. He's almost one & I'm still nursing & planning to continue for a bit (no rude comments please). I would love to start trying again but my period had been faint and I'm testing for ovulation with no positive results yet. Did you ladies start menstruating a little at a time? We're you back to a regular cycle before you conceived? Did you test for ovulation & did you ever menstrate without ovulating or ovulate/conceive without menstruating? Any info is appreciated, TIA!
