Progesterone??

I am currently on cycle day 56... still no AF or a BFP. I saw the doctor and they are going to have me start progesterone to kick start my period. Has anyone done this in the past and had luck with it? My only concern is that it will continue to mess up my cycle or that I may just be ovulating later and it would cause me to miss my chance this month. Opinions or thoughts?

It's going on 3 months now since my last period (jump started by progesterone).  I didn't take progesterone the following 3 months and so I never got a period or a BFP. I did however get my Fertility Focus in the mail and I also went to the doctor and got the progesterone again.  I want to wait until I know I have ovulated ( should be around the 22nd or so) to start taking the progesterone this time (I read that the body starts ramping up with progesterone right after ovulating).  Once my AF starts from the Progesterone, I am going to start on the liquid Geritol supplement (a baby in every bottle? *FX*) for the first time.  On day one of AF, I will also make an appointment for a pelvic ultrasound to check things out around day 8-10 of my cycle (as directed by doctor).  I will also be getting some Evening Primrose Oil from the vitamin store for when my cycle ends so I can start on some of that and see if it makes a difference in EWCM when ovulating next month.

I am on day 3 out of 5 days on progesterone. no AF yet but my dr told me it can take about a week after I finish this round. when I start my period, I will take clomid starting on day 5 to help me ovulate. if your concerned about ovulation ask your dr about taking clomid! (before i started progesterone I was on day 64 of my cycle with no signs of ovulation/no positive ovulation tests)
