Anyone have hypothyroidism?

I just got a call from a Lady at my dr office yesterday "your test came back for hypothyroidism  so you need to start this medication, what's your pharmacy" and she couldn't tell me much else (I expect she honestly didn't know, what's just told to get my pharmacy) but left me a little freaked. Anyone else have this? Or know anything about it?

Thanks yall! I feel a little better, I did start taking my medication today and hopefully when I go in not this week, but next she can give me some more information!

I've had it diagnosed about 6 months now. Just got my levels checked today since I'm pregnant. She'll check them again soon too just to be sure. It's important to have the levels stable while pregnant. She thinks that's why I couldn't get pregnant is because of bad thyroid levels. The first month they stabilized, I got pregnant.

I have had it for years. Treated now for 3. Thats after I gained almost 40 lbs. I was eating clean and exercising with no avail. It can throw off your entire body. Muscle tone and all. 
I was placed on levothyroxine but I didnt feel right. My hair began to break and fracture. Ill attach some pics so you can see the severity. 
I found a doctor who really listens, you have to be your own advocate if shes not willing to explain can her!
Im in armour thyroid and its the best thing that ever happened to me, the weight is slowly dropping off and although my levels were high my doctor suggested wed still try to conceive and I was blesses first try and am now 4 weeks 5 days lregnant hoping the baby will stick. If you have anymore questions id be glad to help.

Your thyroid does a lot in your body, it also helps your baby develop so it's VERY imortant the dr test it and if you need meds it's VERY important you take them. You will more then likely have to take something for the rest of your life. It's just a small little pill not a big deal. I have taken one for this for the last 7 yrs and will for the rest of my life. It's important especially while pregnant to test every few months as your needed dose can change. I have had to increase each pregnancy iv had (2). On my 3rd but won't check for anoth month too see if I'm good for this one. If you don't take the pill it can really mess up your body. You can't even imagine how many things are linked to your thyroid. Talk to your dr about it.
