Hyperthyroidism during pregnancy
Well after 5 weeks of chronic diarrhea, shakiness, anxiety, nausea, vomit, weak nails, dizziness, shedding like crazy, two trips to the er for fluids, I finally got an appt with my primary after I found blood in my stool last night and they now think I have hyperthyroidism. This is my third pregnancy and I have never had an issue with my thyroid previous to this.
My mom however has lupus and hoshimotos thyroiditis. She also had thyroid cancer removed in January and I have another aunt with lupus as well so these issues run in my family.
My levels were normal in November but with the increasing symptoms, chronic (upwards of 6 times a day the past 5 weeks) diarrhea, and the weightloss this is what they think it may be. They're also testing stool samples for bacteria, virus, and c-diff.
I am jumping the gun asking but I am completely freaking out! I guess my questions are; do any of you have this? How has it affected your pregnancy or previous ones? What am I to expect?
