Madison is here!
I had an appointment scheduled for my due date, July 27th at 2pm. To my disappointment, I was still 2cm after 3 weeks so my doctor put me on the calendar to be induced the following week. She decided to sweep my membrane and told me that if anything were to happen, it would be after 24 hours. I was a little uncomfortable during the sweep, but after that I felt nothing. I wasn't even having Braxton Hicks contractions. A few hours later, we decided to engage in some loving to see if that would help. 😊 Upon finishing, I went to the bathroom and had a very painful contraction at 7:18pm. The contractions came non-stop from there. The next one came 4 mins later and remained consistent from that point. We decided to grab food for the family, come back home to drop off the kids and food, then maybe head to the ER if things continued. We picked up food at 8:30pm. At that point my contractions were a little over 2 mins apart so we decided to just go straight to the hospital. Upon arrival, I was 6cm and in active labor! They monitored the baby for 30 minutes and then administrated a drug to take the edge off of the contractions. It didn't really help. Following that I was given a full IV bag of saline in prep for my epidural. Once the epidural was administered, I was at 8.5cm. 30-45 mins later I was ready to push. I pushed for 12 mins exactly and baby girl was here at 11:42pm on her due date. 6lbs 12oz and 18in long. We're so in love!!
