1ST MONTH TTC

Hi,

I'm new to this so I'm sorry if I don't get the lingo yet. My husband and I started trying on July 31st. We "tried" every day during my fertile period, on my ovulation day(8/4), and a couple days after. AF is due 8/18. I took a HPT today and it was negative. Is there any chance It could've been a false negative?
