Is your man lazy/messy?

Do any women care to share how they deal with a lazy or messy husband or significant other? 
I don't mean a complete slob like leaving food laying around for days or straight up trash in the middle of the living room floor or anything, because personally I wouldn't be with someone who was dirty like that.

But for example when he does laundry, maybe never folding it, just throwing it in a pile somewhere, or never dusting a thing, collecting cups or dishes on counters, never cooking dinner or attempting to learn to, having his own room that is a disaster of epic junkyard proportions, a filthy car inside and out, or just general lack of interest in anything that really benefits the home or upkeep. (Besides mowing the grass- he does that every week) It seriously just doesn't bother him when shit is not clean.

Any advice for a high-strung OCD pregnant woman about to get married and have a baby in 5 months? It's getting old being constantly disappointed by someone who just "doesn't care" about these things like I do, like having an orderly, clean house. I want to get over this because there is no one else in the world I would rather be with and I can't keep holding resentments if this is just truly how he is. How do I let it go??

My husband is just plain lazy. When we were both working- and I was even the primary income- I still did all the cleaning.

The thing I had to get over was asking for help.

It would friggin kill me that he could just sit in a room that was a mess, while it drove me up the wall. But that's just it- it drove me up the wall- not him. 
So I needed to get past my inability and just say "hey- can you take out the trash?" Or "can you put that in the dishwasher?"

Also starting rules like "I'll load the dishwasher, if you unload it". Worked well. It made things feel more even. 
He can't cook for beans either! So I would cook- and he would clean it up. It was a decent trade. But I will say over-all, my cleanliness and tend ones have been ground down a bit   Kids do that to you too.

My husband is a complete slob. When I get upset about it, he says, "well I was going to clean it up when I was ready to"... Yeah, right

My husband doesn't help any in the house. We both work full time and are only home from 6 in the evening until about 7 in the morning when we leave to go to work. So it's annoying for me to have to spend all my free time at home cleaning. I tried the " just don't clean it, he'll help when it gets bad enough." That didn't work. It's like he can't see the clutter. Our house is tiny as it is so it just absolutely kills me to have it messy.  In his defense, he does do most of the outside work but if that's all he's gonna contribute then I feel like he should do a much better job. I feel like I live in a jungle most of the time because he'll cut a patch of grass and then quit for the day. Idk if I'm being too hard or what. I just wish he was neater. I blame his mother. But that's another story;)

Haha omg my husband has always been like this and it has always annoyed me. I'm constantly tripping over his stuff and I'm obsessive about things being in their place. I work more than him also and I'm still always cleaning up. I've kind of learned to live with his habits but we do our own laundry and he will leave his sitting around forever. We just moved and he has a man cave now and keeps his mess more confined to there so it helps somewhat. I wish I had better advice :(

My husband is lazy to an extent and it bugs the shit out of me.  I clean everything. I do laundry I fold it and I ask for him to put it away and it will just sit on the bed for a day until I want to go to bed and do it myself.  He also likes to leave empty glasses on the end table and will not load or unload the dishwasher. Drives me nuts.  I hate to be that naggy person but some days I will be and he will stop being lazy usually for a few days.

When I see posts like this, it really makes me appreciate my husband so much more. Our marriage isn't perfect by all means but this really makes me thankful.  My husband is a very tidy man. If I cook, he'll do the dishes. He helps me clean the house. Vacuums. Makes our bed. Washes our clothes. So grateful for him.

I hope that everyone's husbands start to help out more. It really makes a world of difference.

OMG I'm in the same boat. And to the point I thought about leaving him over it >_< but he's not horrid, just... Riley seat DOWN. Clean up once in a while, hang your clothes UP. Put your dirty ones in the hamper not on the floor. If your done with your dish, rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher. And for gods sake, CLOSE THE CURTAIN WHEN YOIR DONE WITH YOUR SHOWER AND USE THE FAN WHEN IN IT!!

Omg I'm  sorry, when reading this I seriously thought you were talking about husband and I. However, we have learned to compromise. The garage is his.... he can turn it into a straight junkyard for all I care, also I never get in his car, I use mine. The rest of the house, we compromise. I dust, I do laundry, I do dishes. However if I ask him to tidy up "his stuff" (ie take it back out to the garage) he must do so immediatly. It also kind of works out because I'm such an ocd/neat/clean freak that "he cleans wrong" and I can't help but redo some of it anyways.... I know I know crazy, I can't help it and he loves me in spite of it. With dinner, he learned while I was vomiting my 1st trimester away that even sandwiches can count as dinner or pancakes or something else simple and I make sure I praise his efforts. Positive reinforcement! Good luck!
