I have 2 step children ( I hate saying step because they are my heart along with their little brother) my daughters birthday is on August 20th her mother was supposed to throw her a pool party on the 8th ( first 1 in 5 years) but instead bought herself new tires and rims and I was the one who had to tell my baby it was cancelled. We are throwing her a party today just like we do every year. Her mother bought a used phone for her birthday present (I pay the bill for the phone) and when I tried to put it on her account last night it didn't have a new SIM card because it was used and since she is switching from  3g to 4g I have to pay more $ and buy the SIM card the total is around $85. We already pay $1,000 in child support and with throwing her a party I don't have the extra money to do her phone. I asked my husband if we should text his ex and see if she will cover the SIM card since we cover everything else. He got mad and said absolutely not her mom doesn't care and won't do it. And it will just cause drama because his ex is just flat out hateful. But my thing is it wouldn't hurt to try because if she (his ex) doesn't help my daughter will have to wait till September when I have the $. So should I text her behind his back which I have NEVER DONE or listen to him? The other thing I have to add is we do pay that much in CS every month it's causing a financial strain to pay out extra on stuff like this should I pay for it or let her mother do it? I need input on both please 😓
