What should baby sleep in?

I have a crib for later months but in the beginning I plan on having baby sleep in with me and hubby. My sister gave me a rock n play and originally that is where I planned on having baby sleep. However after reading some on the Internet I'm not sure if this is safe. Can anyone give me some insight? What did baby sleep in in your room with you?

We're going with a bassinet. I was originally looking at the Rock n plays, but have crazy amounts of research, I've found they aren't safe for use for all night sleeping. Babys are supposed to be flat on their backs, on a hard surface with no extra padding/blankets/pillows. The rock n plays are made at an incline, a wobbly soft surface with extra padding. Even though the box says they are safe for overnight sleeping, after extensive research, I'm not risking it. I really wanted the Halo sleeper, but it's truly a waste to spend that kind of money baby will only be sleeping in for a few short months, so a bassinet it is for us!

We will be co-sleeping and using a pack n play by the side of our bed. Previous comments stated that you can't sleep with your baby. No true. If you are interested in co-sleeping read up on it.

There is a rock and sleeper which I think is safe for baby to sleep in. We are doing a little co sleeper like this. My sister swore by it with both of her kids.

Mine will sleep in a pack n play with bassinet attachment for a few months :)

Sleeping in bed with you is even more unsafe, all the sheets, blankets, and you being there, means countless thing that could either over heat baby, or suffocate them. Neither are really safe. I'd say maybe get a cheap bassinet or the attachment on the side of your bed so it's still not right with you. Even a pack and play would be fine.

I plan to use a pack and play as the bassinet in our room. Research does show that your baby is at an increased risk of SIDS when sleeping in your bed, but for me personally I would be so afraid that I would roll onto baby in the night and crush her.

My baby will sleep in our room in the wooden cradle that my uncle made for me when I was born. That thing is huge and pretty much the size of a crib and solid as a rock....I remember playing in it with my sisters when we were little kids! I'm excited to get to use it for my baby now! 💗

I have a bassinet and rock n play for the baby to sleep near my bed and will have a crib for when he is older. A rock n play is fine and the incline is great for reflux babies. I have the bassinet from my oldest two or I wouldn't have bought another they don't stay in them long. I loved cosleeping with my kids 7-8 years ago too so I'm sure little man will be in my bed some too!
