Jehovah Witness question.

I am undoubtedly going to get some hateful comments, but here goes.

I have heard that Jehovah Witnesses believe only a certain number of special people get into heaven. I don't remember what the number was, or how they were special, but the number that get in far exceeded the number of people currently participating in the religion. >If< this is true, how do you cope with the belief everyone will get in? How do believers have the audacity to go door to door, trying to gain more followers knowing they probably won't be accepted into heaven either? (I know that not all of them do this)

Agian, not trying to offend. I'm asking you to educate me a little more about it on a personal level.
