Massages in first trimester?

I know later in pregnancy we aren't supposed to lay on our stomachs and so have to have special prenatal massages, but is there any risk to a normal massage in the first trimester?

Just let your massage therapist know that you are expecting. They know where not to massage you and certain pressure points to stay away from. :)

I am a prenatl massage therapist.  it's totally fine for massage all the way through pregnancy.  make sure they do not do any tapoltment "karate chop" like technique on the lower back. your fine to be tummy down till 18 weeks as long as you are comfortable.  it's always best to ask if they have had specialized training in prenatal
