Lunch meat?

What are the odds of something happening if I get a sub sandwich from a place I trust 100%? I know they say not to eat lunch meat because of listeria. But I've never gotten sick from eating this place ever before

Just eat the damn sandwich .. I eat a sandwich at least once a week .. 30 weeks and no problems with baby 💖

I love Italian subs that my husband makes and when I asked my doctor she said only if I heat it up. I've just stayed away. Not a fan of it heated.

There are so many things that I think are fine as long as you don't do them all day everyday. If you don't eat cold lunch meat 24/7 your risk is pretty low. Yes some risk but every time you get in a car your taking a risk there too. I think your ok ;)

Listeria is extremely rare and can be in so much more than just lunch meat.  Personally I craved subway when in the first trimester. I ate it.  Didn't get it toasted.  I ate it how I wanted.  I am 20 weeks with a perfectly healthy baby girl right now. My doctor told me it was fine just to be careful.  There's way too many things you're not supposed to eat to stick with what you're allowed to eat in my opinion.

I just don't believe this one. Although I would look for one without nitrites cause that's not healthy for anyone, and microwave it just in case. I ate way too much tuna last pregnancy. I was craving it bad. Apparently it has too much mercury etc. I ate it with careless abandon lol. My daughter is 3 1/2 now. Perfectly healthy and smart. Also I ate tons of cooked sushi.

My dr today told me to eat whatever lunch meat I want. He says the chances of getting listeria are not different then when you're not pregnant and if I've eaten at the place enough to where I'm comfortable then it shouldn't be an issue.

I stay away because of the nitrates as well. My doctor said lunch meat is fine if you microwave it for 20 seconds.

I've had a few unheated subs since being pregnant. I've been fine but I'd only do it from somewhere you trust.

My dr told me just have them heat the meat up but she said if it's the only thing you can keep down it eat!
