IUD insertion painful?

I'm getting the mirena tomorrow at 3.. Anyone have any advice? I've always had very heavy periods with very bad cramps. The pill wasn't working because I always forgot to take it.. So I'm getting this, but I heard it's very painful. I haven't ever been pregnant and I'm 17.  Thanks in advance!(:

It wasn't any worse than feeling a bad cramp for a minute. Just take ibuprofen an hour before.

When I got mine put in, it was like a really long deep cramp. So deeper than a normal period cramp. I got a lot of smaller cramps throughout the rest of the day, but hopefully your doctor will be as awesome as mine was, and prescribe you meds that you have to take before the appointment to help with those cramps. As soon as I got home, I slept all day. Also, make sure you have a ride to take you! I wouldn't have made it home without my mom taking me! But you'll be great if you can handle period cramps!😁

Got mine this morning. Insertion was painful but only lasted a frw seconds with the sharp pain. Just a little cramping afterwards.

It is, but only for a minute. After a week you won't even know you have it
