Help... disabled, need to lose weight.

Mindi (Melinda) • After 15 losses, this is pregnancy 16! Sweet 16💖 Due in September with my miracle 🌈
I'm 31 years old, I'm physically disabled, and I need to lose 100 pounds. The problem is, being disabled, I'm not able to work out or exercise. And I have discovered my metabolism is extremely low. Eating 1200 cal is the minimum you should eat before your body thinks it's starving itself. But at 1200 cal a day I maintain my current weight. Does anyone have any idea that might boost my metabolism? I do physical therapy in the pool once to twice a week, but I don't have a reliable ride to get there any more frequently than that. I just feel so stuck!

Hi, I have a disabled brother in law that I had to put on a diet for his diabetes and because he was extremely over weight that it was taking a toll on my husbands back every time he lifted him. I didn't do anything special he ate what we ate normal servings believe me even pizza. I put him on a schedule and rarely gave him extra junk food like candy and chips, during the day. No more sweet drinks only water.  This is his schedule 9am breakfast, 1pm lunch, 5 or 6pm dinner and no snacks in between. He went from 3x shirts to large and from xl pants to medium. And the best thing is that he no longer has diabetes.

Try looking into Visalus. My dr recommended it to me when I was in a situation where I couldn't work out. He said he likes it because it's one of the only true meal replacement shakes. They recommend replacing 2 meals a day with it, but I did just dinner and still lost 10 lbs my first month without exercise.

What about a sit and be fit video. I know at one time they were on PBS but I'm sure YouTube would have some :) good luck!

Have you seen a weight loss doctor? They can recommend something for metabolism. I think chromium is one. And what about eating paleo? 1200 calories goes a lot further when you're eating mostly meats and veggies and fruits. And the weight night come off easier.

I'm working on trying to find a ride to get to and from the pool more frequently.

Unfortunately I am not able to walk more than 75 feet with a walker, and I do that as much throughout the day as I can but it causes dislocations, falls, and severe increase in pain. I'm not allowed to do yoga because of my disorder, I'm only allowed to do pool therapy, which I posted why above.

Probably won't come off without exercise. Have you considered less medications? Or different ones? Sometimes after you've been on meds for a while you can make an adjustment without it affecting you. Depending what the meds are for I guess.
