Warning!!!! Tmi with photo

I am currently on AF. My period normally last for 6-7 days but it would normally start heavy in the beginning snd lighter at the end. This cycle its lighter in the beginning and heavier . Am currently on 8 days of AF normally it should have ended already with light spotting but am still cramping and its still bright red and its heavy. Sometimes its like dark red and its freaking me out. Back in May I was bleeding for 16 days and the blood I was experiencing then is what am seeing now...am so freaked out and am trying to stay calm and wondering maybe its because I didn't see a period last month. Is it normal to have really dark red flow ?
