Bad parental advice

So, I'm now realizing that parents are bombarded with advice all the time. And while most is good, there will always be that one person who gives you terrible advice. For instance, my foster mother told me to keep my now 10 day old baby up so that she can learn the difference between night and day. Except that she's 10 days old and the only thing that instills in her is that mommy is an asshoke that won't let me sleep. And crying..
