Do you think Planned Parenthood should be defunded?

This has been a hot topic lately, so I would like to see others opinions on this issue.

No one with even an ounce of common sense would want to defund PP.

No it shouldnt. I honestly find it shocking and just mind boggling that WOMEN want to take away health services from other WOMEN. One person said to me that if a place offers abortions then they should be defunded. So basically we should defund it he majority of health places? Like who are you to want to take health services away from women or make it harder just because you hate ONE procedure. I hate some medical procedures but that doesn't give me the right to get it defunded because people deserve care that is protected!

Not at all. People fail to realize how women they help. All people think about when they hear planned parenthood is abortion. Abortion is only 10% of what they actually do.

I know some people disagree with me, but being pro-life I can see the necessity of free/income based pap smears, birth control, and condoms. Not to mention pregnancy tests, blood tests, and STI screenings. I understand you can always go to your primary doctor, but some women and young girls might be too afraid or not have the resources. A young girl in an abusive relationship could walk into PP ask for birth control but leave with the resources and encouragement to break free from her abuser.  I don't think I could ever feel good about abortion, but banning abortion altogether or closing a heath clinic would be a mistake.
I support crisis pregnancy centers because of the counselling and support they provide, but without healthcare provided we need places like PP.

No. I dont think it is okay for people to try and take away something legitimately need. My 21 year old sister gets her BC from them. She practices safe sex with her BF using condoms too but the BC is for her extremely heavy and uncomfortable periods. Why should she suffer because some people dont agree with all aspects of Planned Parenthood?

No, PP needs to stay. They provide care and education for low income patients. 3% of what they do is abortions, and I'm tired of pro-lifers ignoring the other 97%. I'd be willing to bet that they've helped prevent far more unwanted pregnancies and abortions than they have provided.

In the state that I live in, they have pregnancy tests for as little as 6$. Yes you can go to the store and buy one, but if seeking medical attention you really do not even need insurance. I think it is a great source for information for young girls and guys, and not even pregnancy related but if you are concerned about std's or even UTI's they give that testing as well. I think it is very helpful and very informative. It does not promote teen sex or even sex of any kind. It does nothing but suggest and inforce safe sex! So I would have to completely disagree. Very good company in my opinion. And I am just going by the one in my state of NJ

I think it should be better regulated. PP helps many people get educated about pregnancy and stds. Yes, there are shady people who work there, and there are shady things that happen. But I think the program overall is good and helps a lot of families.
