Get rid of family pets?!

My husband's parents had suggested to my husband that we get rid of our dogs!!! 😤😭My dog (border collie, Catahoula) I have had since birth, she is my PTSD dog and I wouldn't give/sell her for 100 million $$$ that's how much she means to me. I have done everything I could just to keep her (shipped her from Hawaii to cali) then I had got my husband his favorite dog (rotwiler) who is 8 months old and she is a great puppy. I don't want to give them up at all, I have been having lots of arguments with him about this. PLEASE SUGGESTIONS IS REALLY NEEDED!!!!!
