Birth control after miscarriage?

I miscarried monday at 8 weeks.

Wondering about when to start birth control. I'm going to use nuvaring. The package says to start within 5 days of a 1st trimester miscarriage. That'd be Friday? I'm concerned because I'm still bleeding and I don't want to start hormonal BC too early and mess up my hormone levels...

Anyone have any experience with this or advice?? I'm assuming its fine if the instructions say to, but this is all new territory for me so I'm just really unsure.
