Biotin?

I meant to ask my doctor but does anyone know if it's safe to take Biotin while pregnant?  I  can't find a for sure answer.

I have a 4 yr old and have noticed its in most children's vitamins nowadays as well as prenatal vitamins. Biotin is just a vitamin and it's found in foods such as peanuts, carrots and egg yolks. As long as you're not taking huge amounts, like anything, there shouldn't be an issue. No studies will say its effects on a fetus or child because it's inhumane to do experiments on fetuses and children lol

Thanks ladies!  I also read that there is not enough research out there to declare it safe but just wanted to see what other obgyn's were advising. I was taking 10,000 mcg's daily and I'm sad that I had to stop since I was getting such great results.

It's safe, and lots of prenatal pills contain biotin

My doctor told me to stop taking biotin, as there are not enough studies about what it does to a fetus.

I think my doc said it is fine after first trimester, I also use liquid collagen- I am starting to use the collagen next week again with the biotin no just bc I feel I am getting all that with the multivitamins
