Does GD always mean early delivery date?

Question

Has anybody delivered on or after the expected due date? All the articles I've read of women diagnosed with gestational diabetes delivered at least  2 weeks before EDD.

I really need baby to stay put until close to delivery date. Is there anything I can do to make this happen? She's already very active at almost 21 weeks. Due date 1/6/2016.

I went 41 weeks with my first and had a c section. They said he was so big and they were scared he would get stuck. He is a healthy 4 1/2year old now!

I delivered mind two days after my due date. He weighed 6 pounds and 6 oz.

I have gd and Im 39 weeks now and waiting on him to come out! Lol if he doesn't I will be induced by 41 weeks. But I do not have medication controlled gd. I think that would make a difference or if they had any concerns.

Not always, apparently there's a risk of the lungs not being as developed in Gd babies. Some doctors would prefer to induce early for size but there is a slight risk with the lungs. My doctor told me he won't induce me unless I'm like 2 weeks overdue

I had to have a scheduled c section at 39 weeks because they thought he would be too big. My son was 8 pounds 12 ounces

My doctor wants me to deliver at 37 weeks because my lil man is measuring and weighing so much bigger than he should.

I was induced at 40w with my first, and 39w with my second. I asked to be induced at 39 though. From what I understand they would only induce you earlier if there was a potential issue, like baby is looking like they are going to be 13lbs or something.
