Due date changed by early scan, doc didn't update?

Question

My LMP due date is 12/20. But my dating scan taken at 7w and again at 9w both said I'm due 12/16. So I've been thinking since then that's my due date.

Yesterday was my first apt at high risk doc, and they're using the LMP date. When I asked why nurse said it's just what the original doc sent. I told her of dating scan and she said it probably won't change my official due date since the dates are so close together.

Umm.. But 4 days IS awhile when it comes to overdue babies! Am I wrong to want them to change it to the 12/16 date?

Unless it's a full week difference they generally don't change the due date is what my doctor said.

With Pregnancy any date they give you is +or - 14 days give or take. It's never accurate!! Also my Doctor told me that with dating scans if they are not greater than 14 days they will keep the original date!

I was told similar; first 12/26 then 12/30... Although they kept it 12/26. Advice I received from my mom friends was that it's better to have a later est. due date because there's a lesser chance they'll induce you, as opposed to being labeled "4 days late." Basically you want the latest estimated due date you can have.
Not sure if that came out clearly, pregnancy brain has clearly fogged my articulation. Lol

I thought that was the whole point of the first scan- to date your pregnancy! Mine went by the date of my first scan, which was only 3 days later than my LMP. In all honesty it probably won't make a difference, so don't worry about it. If you're 4 days early when you give birth, great. If not, at least you have additional time before the mandatory induction.

My dating scan put me 3 days earlier and my file was updated accordingly...  Guess it's different all around.

From what I've heard from Drs they don't typically change the dd unless it's a week or more difference and if your having planned cesarean. My baby measured a week and 2 days bigger so they changed my dd since I will be having a planned cesarean because I am not a good candidate for vbac. They say the first trimester measurement is the most accurate one btw.

I was told that they only chance it if it's more than 8 days in difference.

Mine has measured 4 days to a week bigger every pregnancy and they still haven't changed mine either so idk
