PCOS here anyone?

How to improve fertility? Just knew I had this. Any encouraging stories?

I am not trying to conceive at the moment, nor do I have any children, but I do have PCOS and because I'm someone that needs to make plans, I've spent time talking to other women and doctors about it.

First, cut back on your carb intake. Like as much as possible.  PCOS puts many women close to the diabetic line so you really need to look at your diet and try to avoid the bad carbs (I.e. Breads and noodles). Some suggest gluten free, some suggest to cut out the breads and noodles in general, you should decide what you're most comfortable with and capable of doing long term. Remember PCOS doesn't go away, it just gets manageable. 
If you're worried about what to eat there are some awesome blogs that give food ideas and options. I like to follow beatinfertility.co and it lists some website options for PCOS women. 
If you're overweight, even a small change in body mass can increase your fertility. So exercising and maintaining a healthy weight is pretty important. 
Vitamins. I personally hate vitamins because I'm not a fan of pills and they don't all come in gummy form. But taking folic acid while not being pregnant is actually recommended to increase fertility. And vitamin d and calcium help in the weight department. If you're taking metformin (the most vile pill on the planet that you should be taking because unfortunately it REALLY helps despite the side effects) taking the additional vitamins help manage the symptoms of PCOS and increase fertility as well.

Sorry about the essay but I hope it's helpful. The unfortunate truth is that even with all that info, there's still a lot that doctors don't know about PCOS. There are plenty of doctors that misdiagnose women because so very few actually talk about PCOS.  And sadly, it can happen to all types of women any shape, size, ethnicity, whatever. Just do your research. Ask a lot of questions. And even making a little effort will go a long way for you. Good luck :)
