How do you deal with a UTI?

I recently got a UTI (urinary tract infection) and I'm not quite sure how it works. I know that you get antibiotics from the doctor and you take them twice a day until they are finished. But then what happens when the antibiotics give you a yeast infection because of all the missing probiotics in your body? It just feels like an endless cycle.

I also just recently started dating this guy, and he seems to be very understanding of these "feminine issues", but I don't like having to withhold sex from him during the "can't get enough of eachother" phase in our relationship.

Drink lots of water and pee often, do not hold your pee for more than 3-4 hours. If you don't have to pee that often, drink more water!! A UTI is often caused by urine hanging out too long and creating an environment for bacteria to grow. I also recommend eating yogurt on a regular basis to restore the good bacteria in your body and balance out the yeast.

You need to tell your doctor that the medication has been giving you yeast infections so they would get you that one anymore. I'm EXTERMLY prone to UTI's like I can sit in a bubble bath and get one. But I've never gotten a yeast infection from it. Try drinking lots of water (even when you don't have a UTI) and some cranberry juice. Also make sure you clean well in that area and always pee after sex.

You deal with it. Had infection in my leg and pills did the same. But, but if it don't hurt, a comdom will protect him from getting a yeast infection if he washes right after too. Had to do that. We both can't go long without it. Also if u feel it coming on, start with something right away
