Induction

Just wondering everyone's experiences with inductions?  I've hear good and bad about it. I'm scheduled for an induction next Tuesday and I will be 40+2. Last time I was scheduled for an induction, I went into labor on my own a few days before. I'm hoping this happens again, but I'm not really progressing as far as dialation and effacement. My mom said induction contractions are more intense and painful, but she did it 30 years ago, so things may have gotten better and more efficient?  I'm a little scared going into this
