For a newborn I found pampers to be the best but as my son got older (3-4 months) Huggies little movers are great and we found them to work best. They have an extra little tab on the inside to help keep the sides in place to help stop leaks. During the nightime now that he sleeps through the night I swear by Huggies Overnights, keeps him dry until morning.

Sometimes there's no stopping the most powerful poop explosions though.
