No testing?

Question

Hi guys, just wanting to know if there are women out there not doing any prenatal testing and stuff? Very overwhelmed with all the testing that's available now and just seems like something else to worry bout if u get a negative reading but then end up with a healthy baby anyway and worrying 9 months for nothing....

We decided not to do any of the elective tests and are very happy with our decision. It's honestly each woman's decision and there is no right or wrong answer. Personally, I just didn't want to worry the whole time over results that are not 100% accurate.

I felt more relieved to get the cell free fetal DNA test and find out that 21 different chromosomal were ruled out. Having more information about my pregnancy is comforting to me.

We didn't do any of the genetic testing. We've only done what's been required. Our thought process on that wa regardless of if there was some type of genetic disorder that we wouldn't change a thing. I just don't seem to understand doing it if there isn't an indication of it in either family.

We didn't do any of the genetic testing. Our thought was why? We can't really do anything to prepare except worry if something came back positive. We were going to love the child either way. At our anatomy scan though the tech told us there are no indicators on the brain for Down syndrome, no clef lip and the spine was looking great! That's all I needed to hear

I didn't do genetic testing with my first or this baby. It won't change my love for him and I don't believe in abortion so it would be a waste of time and resources for me.

We didn't test with our other children this is baby #3 and we don't plan on doing any this time around. For me personally it would add a bunch of unneeded stress and worry and the outcome will not change our minds about keeping the baby so it isn't something we wish to do. But for others it's something that works for them and that's great it's just what is best for you and your family :)

I'm only 17 weeks and I've gotten two sets of testing done. All I have done is worry none stop. I'm at first time mom and when the test were presented to me I didn't know at the time I had a choice to opt out of them. Day in and day out since the testing every time my phone rings I wonder if it's the doctors calling with my results or calling to tell me something is wrong. If I have to get any other testing done I will opt out and if I have another child I will opt out of all tests. It's way too stressful and makes you on edge.

We did not do any elective testing. It didn't matter for us. We just wanted a baby to love and will no matter what. Some prefer to know and be prepared. The only thing we needed to be prepared for was a child.
