Hip-pinning? Has anyone broken/fractured your hip and needed pins/screws?

I have a rare fracture to the femoral neck of the hip for 5 months, I need surgery, 3 pins placed in to hold the fracture together. I'd like to job if anyone's had this done, and would it cause a problem during pregnancy.

Hi. Is it Slipped Capitulum? I'm  xray tech and have seen that a lot in people with that issue, my only concern would be in surgery they typically do live xray (c-arm fluoroscopy) which can potentially deliver a lot of radiation, especially to a fetus. But if you are pregnant when they do so be sure they are aware and take the proper precautions!

I had three pins in my left hip, didn't last very long in my case. I had to have them removed. I was about 11 years old when this was done. At 18, I had a total hip replacement. Best choice of my life. I fractured my hip and my growth plate slipped out at 8 years old. Had mutliple surgeries from 8 years old to 18. I am now 21 and my hip does not bother me at all. ☺ Goodluck.

My mom fractured her hip while in the Navy. They went in the first time to put 3 pins in. They put them in crooked to they had to go in a second time a correct it. The third time she had surgery on her hip was cosmetic. The two previous surgeries left a badly sunken scar that they fixed. Her hip still bothers her from time to time especially when the weather changes like when it's about to rain.

The surgery itself isn't bad. Don't know about it during pregnancy but it didn't hurt that bad
