When to start with breast pump/bottles?

My friend says get the baby used to  bottles (breastpump expressed) ASAP so that my husband can help with feedings. I read conflicting advice that using bottles can cause nipple confusion.

can any experienced mamas weigh in on this??

My dr told me to wait to give baby a bottle and binky until 4 weeks, that way the baby can get breastfeeding established. I ended up giving him a bottle at week 2 and he did going back n forth between bottle and boob

Agree with the suggestions of waiting 4ish weeks. While some will say there isn't the issue of nipple confusion, it's also about establishing a strong BF relationship and a pump isn't as efficient as baby. If hubby wants to be involved, there are lots of other ways besides doing the feedings!

I was told by a breast feeding class that you should wait 3-4 weeks before introducing bottles/pacifiers! This is because you don't want nipple confusion.

I waited 2 weeks for bottle but I pumped before that!

I'm going to wait a little while for bottles because I've heard that breastfeeding can be a challenge at the beginning while you're getting into the swing of things, so I don't want to risk adding confusion too soon.

my lactation consultant said to wait as long as you can before introducing a bottle or paci. Obviously eventually you'll have to do it but I would wait at least two weeks
