Fur babies and new babies?

Question

How will you introduce your fur baby to your new baby? We have two with very different personalities and haven't quite figured out how to do this yet! :)

Slowly. I have two 80+ lb dogs. I'll have something from the hospital baby used, and allow them to smell it before they are allowed near baby, then slowly allow them one at a time near baby to see reactions and correct what needs to be corrected.

I have 3 all very loving and protective over me and my husband. I see it going well, but I will be introducing them 1 at a time and make sure everything is going to be ok

My dogs have been around babies since they came into our home. My brother and almost all of our friends have babies and they have come around our dogs since they were newborns. I'm not worried about bringing baby home but I'm hoping that by having my husband or in laws bring home things that smell like baby before arrival will help their excitement and make them not so crazy! My German shepherd/Alaskan malamute female will be more interested in me being home she is very attached to me...our male will probably sniff and walk away

We have cats and intend to send home things with the baby's smell on it before we come home from the hospital. Hoping to give them treats after the smell the item(s) to let them associate good things with baby's smell. Other than that I intend to wait and let them approach once they feel comfortable to do so, with supervision. I expect a lot of hiding under our bed for a while, lol, especially as the baby cries. Other than that we've already been shutting them out of our bedroom at night.

We sent home clothes from the hospital a day before but my MIL said the dogs didn't really care. When we got home the dogs were put outside and my husband brought them in one at a time on leash to greet me while I was holding the baby. I did not pet them until they were sitting as calm as possible (husband have leash pops to correct). Honestly, they were more worried about seeing us finally back after 2 days than the baby. Since then they've been allowed to sniff her but made to respect her space. The cats are allowed to sniff but not lay too close.

You won't have any problems with the beagle and baby. I had a friend who just had a baby and her beagle LOVES that's baby. Our beagle has already taken a liking to all our baby stuff and wants to be close to me all the time. Beagles are great with babies. We plane to introduce our hoard 1 at a time and my mother is going to bring a blanket back for all of them to smell before we get home.
