Recommended pregnancy books?

I just found out I'm pregnant for the first time. I don't know where to go from here lol. Can anyone recommend any books? Is the "What to Expect" book worth the buy? Thanks in advance!

One of my besties bought me "What to Expect" and "your pregnancy week by week", which was her favorite for all three of her pregnancies. I tend to read the week by week book a lot more than "what to expect" as I like how it's organized and it shows you the size and ways your baby and your body are changing each week. Now, my dr told me to get "From the Hips: a guide to pregnancy, birth, and becoming a parent".  I got it for $15 on Amazon. I really like that book as well because it is current and offers you different viewpoints on topics with out telling you the "right" way to do things as so many books do. It was written by two women who were fed up by the onslaught of info that is thrown at you when you get pregnant. They wanted to educate you with the different options out there and then let you decide which is the "right" way for you. Happy reading!

I got "what to expect when you're expecting" from half price books. I'm glad I bought it but really glad I didn't pay full price. I've read up to where I'm at in my pregnancy but some things in the book contradict what my Dr has said. I do suggest never ever ever trusting a book more than your dr.

I would try to borrow books, if possible, vs. buying. A friend gave me hers and I'm so glad because I didn't end up reading them. I started when I was first pregnant, but then they lost their appeal. I used apps instead. I would NOT recommend The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy.

I just started reading this book. It's a great affirmation to what a woman's body is created to do. There's insight in childbirth and birth stories.
