The only reason I knew mine was a chemical was lots of blood and clots. My tests were super dark and even positive on the digital tests. Try not to stress about it! I know it's hard

This is what my tests looked like when I had one, but I wouldn't consider yourself out until you either bleed or get your levels checked with the doctor. Good luck!

They look progressively darker to me. Mine were very faint for from 9dpo to 12dpo, and 15 dpo was a little darker but not tons. Then bam! Darker than control line at 17 dpo.
