Contractions starting and stopping?

I had contractions all last night. First 8 mins apart and then 5 mins apart for 2-3 hours. I decided to nap so I wouldn't be miserable at the hospital and I woke up and they're all but stopped. Could that be false labor or what? I'm super disappointed. 😔

False labor can still cause progression! I lost my mucus plug three weeks before giving birth and once I lost it, I started false labor two days later. My next appointment I was 2cm and 80% effaced. My Dr. Said those contractions I was having weren't all for nothing :) hope that helps.

The other day, I went to the hospital for contractions and was sent home. I felt like it was a waste of time and money. It's smart you tried to sleep it off. I had the same issue last night as well and forced myself to stay home and tried to sleep. When I woke up this morning, I felt the same exact way...disappointed. This waiting game is the worst...I know how difficult it is. I just keep on telling myself this is temporary. Hang in there!

Have had false labor at least every other day 2-3 hrs straight of consistent contractions... Miserable!

I had this last night. Consistent contractions for 2 hours and then poof they were gone. I didn't want to go to L&D until absolutely certain though, being sent home from L&D for false labor is such a walk of shame. My mom told me when my knuckles turn white, then it's time to go in

Same thing happened to me earlier in the week. Starting have what I thought were contractions which were quite painful. Decided to head to bed for a rest and when I woke they'd stopped. Can only assume it was a false start.
