What kind of birth control for me?

I was originally put on the pill for ovarian cysts. Then became sexually active. I always had a normal 28 day cycle before birth control then after going on my periods went crazy. I want to may be change birth controls but I don't know to what. I was thinking about the implant but there's so many questions I have about them. I definitely will be doing my own research as well as talking to my doctor before changing but I wanted to know your opinions and advice.
