Stockpiling?

Is it safe to stockpile stuff like diapers? I'm curious because I read so many posts about leaking diapers and needing to experiment with different brands... FTM here and very overwhelmed with all the options! I know several people who watch sales and would buy in bulk, even before baby came. What are some things you saved before baby was born?

I stock up in diapers thus is my 3rd baby and in my experience the babies stay in sise 3 longer than any other sise. I get 1 or 2 boxes of 1s and 2s then the rest 3s. I get one box every month until the babe is born.

My BIL created a stockpile for us and gifted them to us at our shower. Unfortunately the brand didn't work. Even with receipts the store would not take them back because it had been so long and they no longer sold the diaper in that count. We had to sell them to others and of course no one wants to pay more then 50% even for unopened boxes. So for the 12 boxes he gave us we were able to only buy 4 after selling the others. This time we are taking the money we would spend on diaper and puttin on a gift card but we are buying sensitive/natural wipes to create a stock of that. This way we won't lose $$ on diapers that do not work. I would say get a couple of the jumbo newborn/size 1 packs in different brands to try them that way you know what works before buying in bulk. Also when setting the $$ aside for diapers do it for the more expensive brands like pampers incase you have to use them and if a cheaper brand works you have more money for more diapers.

I think it's a good idea.  You can always exchange them at Walmart if you don't have a receipt.

I bought baby diapers before the baby was born. I saved receipts in case the brand didn't work. I plan on using the Facebook garage sale group I'm part of to get rid of any open boxes.

I also bought wipes in advance too.

Diapers, wipes, single serve formula tubes (wic doesn't cover these), rice cereal. 
Rice cereal is the only baby for I've ever given my kids. We used it to slightly thicken the kids night bottles starting around 2 months. Made for longer sleeps since they had the heavier tummies.

Stockpiling Diapers and wipes are perfectly fine.... I'm 13 weeks and just started purchasing diapers to stock pile so I won't have to worry about diapers until about 6mos or so... I'm getting NB to size 3.. My 2 boys stayed in size 3 for a while so I'm stopping there to see how this baby will grow..
Most stores will exchange diapers with no problems (even without a receipt)... Websites like Diapers.com will let you exchange diapers for different sizes without shipping.... Good Luck!

I buy a pack every week and wipes. Just watch how many newborn you buy  However I use luvs. As pampers made my other 2 kids break out.

For my first I tried store brands, pampers, huggies and cloth. She didn't respond well to the cloth, and the store brands were terrible. I loved the pampers and huggies. I will never use huggies wipes though, they break open when wiping 😰 
For this kiddo I plan to stock pile wipes and diapers that I know I like.

I buy a pack of diapers a week... All different brands rotated even store brands. That way, if something doesn't work, we don't have a ton of just one brand.
