Gender selection what are your thoughts?

So I'm sat here with a cuppa watching the news and the topic gender selection comes on, i personally think it's ridiculous! As long as the baby is healthy what does it matter on the gender?! What are your thoughts on it?

I wish I could have chosen the sex of this one. I'd have done it in a heartbeat.

And let's stop with the 'as long as it's healthy' stuff. Some kids are not born healthy and they are no less for it.

I think until you've experienced just have the same gender you shouldn't really have an opinion. For me I have two amazing, healthy beautiful boy, BUT I would love nothing more than to have a little girl. Personally because I want to have a mother/daughter relationship I will never get to have with my own mother. what I don't get is why is it so hard for people to understand not everyone has a hard time conceiving and it's not their faults. It seems like these are the main people who think gender selection or wanting a certain sex is absurd and are the main ones saying as long as it's healthy because let's get real we all of course want nothing more than a healthy baby but that doesn't mean we can't dream of having a son/daughter!

I feel like it's playing God. We should be happy with whatever he blesses us with! If we don't conceive,  He has other plans for us.

Trying for a little over 5 years now (just started cycle 63). I could care less what sex my child is as long as my child finds me. I should also point out there is a difference between sex and gender...that's a whole other discussion though.

Since someone whales a "better" response from me...

If I had extra cash to burn and I was undergoing IVF I would choose the gender of my child, I have a daughter, I'm pregnant with my second daughter and I would choose so I would get to experienceraising a boy, and so my husband could get his son. Does it mean I love my daughters any less? Hell no.  If the technology and science is there why not take advantage of it.

I also think if a woman decides to do this, it's no ones business. It affects no one negatively.

When I was pregnant I wished for a girl. I got a boy. I was a little upset but I'm having a baby and I already love it. But if I keep on having boys, I would totally do it. I want that mother daughter bond more than anything.
