Should I quit my job?

Question

I'm a receptionist at a real estate office and when I was hired I was given 19 hours a week. I usually work 17-30 hours a week.

I got the new schedule and now since the other girl got promoted I'm down to 8 hours a week.

I could take this to be a sign to start looking in my field (communications). I'm 21 and going to be a senior in college.

I always recommend waiting to quit a current job until you have the next one locked in.

I have a bachelor's degree and JUST got an entry-level job after months of searching. The market right now is noooo good. (Unless somehow communications is hiring and I don't know about it!)
