Any early symptoms?

I don't see my mfm until the 16th and just went to my obgyn last week and she said the vaginal cramps are normal. But I keep having like almost a pinching or pulling cramp in my vagina along with Braxton hicks and I'm 18 weeks. Did anyone have any symptoms like this and found out they had a shortened cervix or am I just being paranoid?

You know your body better than the doctors. That sounds weird but it's true. They can tell you things "sound" normal but if you are still concerned I would insist on being seen. That's what they get paid for. With my last I had really weird pains that they said sounded normal but at 19 weeks they found funneling. I had an appointment for another week out but I knew something wasn't right so I got ahold of the high risk doctor and they rechecked me and immediately sent me to the hospital. Within a week I was getting an emergency cerclage because I barely had any cervix left and was dilating. Fight for what you know is right.

Right around that time, 17-19 weeks I'd say, I felt occasional cramping and like a pressure type feeling down real low under my baby bump.. I'd get it the worst when I was at work though, on my feet, and when I'd lie down it would subside. For that reason, doctor suspected it was just round ligament pain. So I ignored it, but sometimes when I'd be on my feet I'd just get this gut instinct feeling that something was wrong and I needed to lie down. And I'd get pressure really low like it felt like the baby was trying to push his way into my vagina already (he probably wasn't but that's the best way I could describe it). My cervix was then 2.2cm at my 20 week scan, they wouldn't agree to bedrest or anything and then within 3 weeks it was down to 0.8cm. I'm on bedrest now and don't feel those BH cramps or pressure anymore, and everything has stayed status quo for 2 weeks so far. Sorry response is so long, bedrest is boring so I get talkative lol!
