Christians only please, how do you feel about the KY clerk denying marriage licenses to gay couples?

I am very well aware about how the general public feels about her (very strong dislike/ what she is doing is wrong), so I am curious about how other Christians feel about her. Please only answer this poll if you identify as Christian so we can get accurate results.

Before taking a job you have to decide what your conscience permits. Not after. You can't work in a gas station and deny selling cigarettes because you don't approve of smoking.

While I admire her for standing up for her religious beliefs, I don't think her actions are justified. The Lord tells us to obey the law of the land. The fact of the matter is, gay people are legally allowed to marry. Those people don't have other options in places to obtain their marriage license (compared to, say, bakeries), and are being denied a civil right. I think she needs to step down, or ask to be reassigned.

In my opinion it's wrong because she's mixing her personal religion with government laws. If she feels that convicted than she needs to resign.

I don't buy into the argument that God would be displeased with her for selling anyone a piece of paper....I am sure she sold them to people on their second, third, fourth marriage.  Do you think God distinguishes?
Now a priest or pastor, officiating  a marriage under God?, yes I can understand that would be a sin.  But I don't believe God cares about the governments piece of paper.

*Actually, if you dig deeper into this story, she was refusing to issue ANY marriage licenses. However, mainstream media would rather push the aspect that she would not issue licenses to gay couples.
Personally, I feel the government has no place in marriage period. If marriage is between a man and a woman (or as I believe as a Christian, a man, a woman, and God), the government has no place in it. So yes, that would allow for gay marriage and polygamy, and while I feel that is morally wrong, the government has no place litigating morality or telling able-minded, consenting adults what they can or cannot do in their homes. Everyone has to answer for their actions, right or wrong, but marriage is one area the government needs to stay the heck away from.

I feel she should resign because her staying in the office just brings more hateful words and thoughts and pulls more people from Christ because people think she is a hipocrit bigot. But I salute her for now bowing down to peer pressure and standing up for what is right!

I dont think the governme.t should issue marriage license in the first place... Its a pact you make with God not the government.. Therefore, if the governemnt wants to issue these unsanctioned certificates then they should give them to anyone.. Cousins, brother sister, lgbt community, cow and man, because it isnt coming from God in the first place... Thats my opinion... So if she would like to get ordained and become a minister and.officiate weddings sure... But.no.she doesnt have a right to deny a government idealized certificate... Marriage comes from God...

She is entitled to her religion. It's against her religion, just because u don't participate in something u believe  is sin doesn't mean that you are judging the sinner, ur simply judging the sin. People need to lighten up , I feel like homosexuals not only want to be married , they want everyone to agree and be ok with their defisionS, and that's not the case. Just as not everyone agrees with her decision. Anyways I'm not against what people do or judging, but I think she was simply taking a stand for what she believes in, her love for God and her devotion of her religion was more important to her than her employment . That takes trusting the Lord.

Just based on what I've heard it sounds like she's a hypocrite. I've heard she's on her 4th marriage so I don't feel like she has the right to say she can't issue a marriage license to a same sex couple. I believe ministers should be able to choose who to perform marriages for but that's it, I don't think people should be able to refuse to issue a marriage certificate.

I just read that she's going to jail for contempt of court.. I think she's wrong and I think she should step down from her position if she can't agree with the duties of her job. I don't think she should go to jail though.
