Can I say no to holiday hosting at 37 wks preg?

I will be exactly 37 weeks (full term) on Christmas day.  My family isn't in town and we can't travel so late (and wouldn't want to) but my MIL is already talking about hotel prices in our town for the holiday.  Is it awful if I want to just be alone and enjoy the last days as a family of 3?  I'm picturing having to clean the house, plan lots of meals for extra people, and basically adding stress when I probably will just want to be sitting and having a low key holiday.

I don't remember much about being 37 wks. I know I had a lot of braxton hicks and not much sleep.  Am I just being silly?  Would you host?

I would not host. I would say, I'm sorry, but that is too close to the due date and I don't feel comfortable with that. Just say what you said earlier - cleaning, cooking, prepping, and about wanting your privacy and space. People need to respect that. If they get butthurt, it's not your problem. They can figure out how to grow up and get over it, eventually.

I told my family and my in laws that we will not be traveling. We are due January 1 and my son came a week early. I did tell them that they can do Christmas at our house but I will not be doing any of the setting up or cleaning up.

Totally within your rights and reasonable.  If it were me, I would host, but that is because (1) my almost three-year old loves a party and would love family there and (2) my mom or MIL would pretty much cook everything/clean and tell me to relax.

Tell her to keep her ass at home! You will be ready to pop and won't have the energy for entertaining. I'd put my foot down on this one.

Say no!!!  Holidays are so stressful....you don't need that!   Just have your husband gently break it to your MIL that you guys need to lay low and have your family time.  Honestly if it is what you need, do it!

Also, before the baby is due, you need to be prepping for the baby, not adult guests. That means getting the house prepped (safety) making frozen meals to thaw, prepping the baby's room (or yours), cleaning the house (while you still can move) and spending quality time with the first child so they don't feel left out. 
It is not a time for guests to invite themselves over, you're busy enough!

I'm still deciding if I am going to visit my family, on one hand I want to so my daughter can be with her cousins and be around other kids but on the other hand it's a 4 hour drive back home and I'll be 35 weeks and holiday traffic to Orlando won't be pretty but then again I hate cooking lol but maybe it's time for new traditions for our little family since the army will eventually take us to a new place thats not so close to home. I'm all kinds of conflicted lol
