Ear piercings for babies??

Would you pierce your babies ears when they're a baby or wait till they get older? I know it's a weird question.

Never, that's a choice they should make when they are older.

I did my daughters at 3 months old. She never plays with them. Never had an infection and she let's me clean it every other day or two. She is 3 almost 4 and is perfectly fine. I only stick the best earing in there just in case she is alergic.

Personally I wouldn't, I think it looks cheap and would not want to risk infections. I wasn't allowed mine done till I was 12. I think if a child wants it done they should wait until they are old enough to care for the piercing themselves. I think the child should decide as its their body not yours. But everyone is different.

I had my little girl's ears pierced when she was about 5 months old.  Never had any problems with her ears.

I don't see why not.. I've never met a little girl that didn't want her ears pierced.. Why not do it while she's young and not going to remember the pain..

I don't have a crazy strong opinion on this as I don't care what another parent does to/for/with their child. But we will be waiting until our daughter is old enough to make her own decision. Of course she'll probably want them done when she sees all her friends with them and that's perfectly fine. I never wear earings, but my earlobes are also wicked small, so even a small stud looks really awkward as it sits soooo close to the edge. My daughter takes after me, which is another reason why I want to wait. She's still growing (she's almost 3 1/2), and right now has very little room to piece them if I wanted too. My mom wasn't able to piecer my ears until I was almost a year old.

Oh, here we go again. In the US, is there any girl who is like 'oh my gosh. I'm so offended that my parents decided for me. It's my body. I never would ve gotten my ears pierced. Oh how horrible and cruel they were to me.'  Mine were done at two weeks. My daughter's were done at five months(that's the earliest my dr does them). The shitty second hole ones I got done at the mall when I was a teenager bother me for weeks after I do wear them.

Nope I'll let my daughter decide on her own. Those are her ears, not mine to decide for her. I didn't get mine done will I was 6.

my parents didn't take me to get my ears pierced until I was older and asked for them myself , I will be doing the same with my daughter i'm not going to take her to get her ears pierced until she herself asks me to. It's her personal decision. I don't have anything against moms that chose to have their babies ears pierced though , after all its their child not mine .

With my baby I'm going to wait. 
When I was a baby and got my ears pierced, they would get so badly infected no matter what type it was and all the way up to when I was like 17 I couldn't wear earrings longer than maybe 2 hours.
Turns out I'm allergic to a bunch of metals..
