IUD Experience?? In need of advice...

Hi Ladies, I was just wondering how your experience was when you had and IUD. Painful level? Did you still use condoms? 
Also, how was your overall expirence of it.. I am planning on talking to my Gyno about getting one. The NONhormonal one. Just wanted to know how it is/was.

Oh and another person that I know of had to have surgery as it migrated into their abdomen. :/ shit scares me

I'd really look into the lawsuits going on first. One of my friends just got hers removed thursday. She's had the symptoms of increased intercrainal pressure, fatigue etc. Another friend had her IUD baby a few months ago which was dangerous and my Bro's fiancé had awful pains with her's, I won't ever be getting one.

From what I understand, the pain levels depend on if you've had kids as well as your pain tolerance. I haven't had kids and I don't have good pain tolerance so I was in bad shape the first three days, like almost didn't make the fifteen minute ride home with my mom driving, and I absolutely couldn't move the next two or three days, and since I've had several painful days just like that. The thing is, I've survived, I'm not as worried about pregnancy (it's one of my worst fears), it's was free with my insurance, I don't have to worry about it for three years (I got Skyla since its smaller), there's not that much hormones, and so far so good, though I'm getting an ultra sound in two weeks to make sure. The only side effect is a lot of spotting (but I did just get off of depo the day I got my iud so that might contribute to that). I use pull out method so far since my bf and I haven't bought condoms yet though we've been using that since before I got on bc and so far no kid

I had the iud after both my pregnancies I never had any issues with it no pain I did have a very long period when it first got put in but aftrr that both time my periods ended amd I didnt have them till I got them removed and I never used pritection with it as I was in a commited relationship and I never got pregnant with it but when I got it removed both times I was pregnant within a month of having it removed it was great but after my third I was done so I got my tubes tied that time

When I had mine put in it reallllly hurt but it went away by morning I've had mine for 5 months and my periods are almost back to my norm... They would be really light for almost 2 weeks at first :/. Other then that I've had no problems

I have the non hormonal iud now. The pain wasn't that bad - a tad bit worse then my yearly pap. Afterwards I cramped up for like two days - no worse then a period. I do still use a condom as a child right now would be way to hard for me and my SO.
