Will i ever conceive

w long after a surgical abortion can one conceive? I had a surgical abortion in may-june at 8 weeks due to health issues and I was told I could ttc after 2 months..the doc said i was fine amd i had no complications. .never had a regular period since last month august and i thought it would be a great time to ttc but i hit all the fertile days and I just started my period..so sad.. is it that I won't ever be able to conceive or can I get on something that will help me get pregnant? Or maybe my body hasn't yet gone back to normal or maybe I'm not ovulating am confused? Should I keep trying this month before I get medical attention? Please help me out I'm really sad and confused
