Am I overreacting?

Me and my wife are vegan. We've been vegan for many years. Her family has a bit of a problem with it for some reason. We're expecting our first baby in December and we plan to raise him vegan. Today her mom said that if we ever leave him alone with her she will feed him meat. I find this very disrespectful of our lifestyle, beliefs, and parenting. We both decided she will not get to be alone with our child. Are we overreacting?
