I was scheduled to be induced at 8am Sunday September 6th
I was scheduled to be induced at 8am Sunday September 6th. We got to the hospital and got registered and all that good stuff then they checked my cervix. I wasn't softened and was still 1cm so they wanted to start cytotec. At first I denied it and said I would use cervidil(however you spell it), pitocin or the Foley bulb but my OB said that we couldn't use cervidil because it just softens my cervix and doesn't cause contractions, we couldn't use pitocin yet until I was dilated more, and we couldn't use the Foley bulb because I wasn't dilated enough. So i ended up getting 3 doses of cytotec and they checked me after each one and even though I was cramping a lot and my cervix was softening I wasn't dilating how I was supposed to. After the 3rd dose I was checked and was 2cm. Then my water was broke and I was started on pitocin. Started getting contractions which just felt like bad period cramps to me and they wasn't even 1 min apart so I got my epidural and it was sooooo nice. After awhile though baby heart rate would drop, my blood pressure would drop and I was still stuck at 2cm and didn't make any progress after around 8 hours I think. So I had to get a c section. It wasn't that bad except recovery is getting kinda hard and I did not like how I was pretty much paralyzed except in my left arm. That was weird having people turn me over in bed and pretty much carry nothing but my dead weight from switching beds. All went well and Briella is fine. They had to give her some extra oxygen but that's it. Labor started around 10am Sunday and I had Briella at 6:58am Monday morning. It was a long labor and nothing went the way I wanted it to but that's okay. Breastfeeding is going fine except today has been tricky but I'm not giving up.
